Accidents, even the most minor, can be traumatic. You will want to be assured that any damage is repaired to manufactures specifications. Our welcoming reception and caring staff ensure your repairs are dealt with efficiently as possible

This small guide will help you in the event of an accident to stay calm and get all the necessary information needed at the time of the accident to help you on your way to a guaranteed repair.

In the event of a accident

  1. As obvious as it sounds you must STOP. Calmly assess the situation. Have you been injured? Has anyone else been injured? How badly damaged is your car and other vehicles?
  2. Call the Emergency Services if any of the following have occurred:
    • - Any person or animal needs medical attention
    • - The road has been damaged or blocked
    • - Chemicals or fuel have escaped from any vehicles
  3. Exchange details
    Give your own and the vehicle owners' name, address, vehicle registration, insurance company name and policy number to the other person involved, or anyone having reasonable grounds for requiring them.
    You will need to know the following from the other person involved:
    • - Name
    • - Address
    • - Telephone number
    Vehicle and insurance details:
    • - Make
    • - Model
    • - Registration number
    • - Insurance company
    • - Insurance policy number
    At this stage do not admit or discuss blame or liability.
  4. Witnesses
    Get names, addresses, phone numbers and vehicle registrations of any witnesses. Make a note of anyone that may have been injured or is complaining about any pain or discomfort.
  5. Take a photo
    If possible take a photo at the scene.

After the accident: Remember you the Policyholder have the right to have your vehicle repaired at a repairer of your choice you need to inform your insurer who your chosen repairer is when you report your claim.

Even if you are not at fault, you must notify your insurance company of the incident within 24 hours, no matter how minor it may be.
