Founded in 1977, Motability is a national charity helping disabled people, their families and carers become mobile. As one of the founding manufacturers of the programme, Ford is delighted to have supplied over half a million Motability vehicles to date. We know that having a car can give you the freedom of independence. With Ford Motability, we can also provide you with real freedom of choice, with an extensive range of award-winning cars that deliver versatility and roominess without compromising on performance, driveability or style. Ford is one of the largest suppliers of vehicles to Motability. Models are available for a test drive but please contact us first to avoid disappointment.
How it works in three simple steps:
Step 1. Choose your car
Step 2. Place your order
Step 3. Collect your car
Do you qualify for a car using the Motability scheme?
If you’re receiving either of the following benefits, you could qualify for a car under the Motability scheme:

War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
Jonathan Chapman, Motability Specialist.
Even if you can’t drive yourself, you could still get a car on the Motability scheme by nominating a family member, guardian or your carer as your driver. You should have received an Award Notice with details of your allowance from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and the Scheme
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is replacing Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for disabled people between the ages of 16 and 64, even those with an "indefinite" or "lifetime" award. Disabled children will continue to receive DLA until they reach the age of 16. DLA will also continue to be available for those who were aged 65 or over on 8 April 2013 (20 June 2016 in Northern Ireland). If you are awarded the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of PIP, you will continue to be able to lease a car through the Motability Scheme.
